Virtual reconstruction of the statue of Pope Pius V in Pavia
The project is the 3D modeling of the statue of Pope Pius V, founder of the Ghislieri College of Pavia in 1567. The statue stands in front of the College and bears the following inscription (in Latin): PIO V P.M. COLLEGY GHISLERY CONDITORI MARCH. PIVS ALEX. FRAT. RAYMOND. PRIOR GHISLERY ANNO MDCXCVI P.P. BECCARIA P.P. PRAEFECTO.
It is a monumental baroque bronze sculpture made in 1692 by Filippo Ferreri in Rome, from where, it first reached Genoa and finally Pavia, where it was placed on a high base in white marble in the square facing the Ghislieri College in 1695.
