Massimo Savini's
curriculum vitæ.


Massimo Savini was born in Piacenza (Italy) in 1958. He received the Dr. Ing. degree in Electronics Eng. from Pavia University in 1983 and Doctorate degree in Electronics and Informatics Eng. in 1989.

Since May 1983 to October 1984 he worked at the Dipartimento di Informatica e Sistemistica of Pavia University on image data compression. In 1984 he was awarded a fellowship from the Italian National Research Council and in November of the same year he started working at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, on segmentation and analysis of range image data for object recognition. During the stage in the USA he received a contribution from NATO that allowed him to continue his work until December 1985.

From March 1987 to October 1992 he has been working in the Artificial Intelligence Section of CISE, Segrate (MI), on industry related computer vision tasks. In early 1990 Dr. Savini has participated into the proposals evaluation committee for the Community Teleman Project. Dr. Savini's main interests are focused on robotic computer vision. He is member of the ACM and IAPR-IC. He is author or co-author of more than 30 Journal or Conference papers and book chapters.
