Curriculum vitae

 

Marco Porta is full professor at the University of Pavia (Italy), where he teaches Web and Multimedia Technologies in the Master's program in Computer Engineering (Faculty of Engineering) and Web Design and Technologies in the interdepartmental Bachelor's program CIM (Communication, Innovation, Multimedia). He has a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering from the Politechnic of Milan (Italy) and a Ph.D. in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Pavia.
He is a member of the research group of the Computer Vision & Multimedia Lab (Laboratorio di Visione Artificiale) of the Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering (Dipartimento di Ingegneria Industriale e dell'Informazione). His main research interests include eye tracking, vision-based perceptive interfaces, visual languages and communication, e-learning, user centered interface design, and Human-Computer Interaction in general.
He is president of the didactic council of the interdepartmental programs CIM (Communication, Innovation, Multimedia, bachelor) and CoD (Digital Communication, master) of the University of Pavia and vice chair of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society's Technical Committee on Factory Automation.
He has published more than 100 articles in international journals, books and conference proceedings, and has participated in several national and international projects.
