Collegio Volta, Pavia - Italy
May 7-18, 2001

General Information

The ERASMUS/SOCRATES Program Nr. ICP-xx-A-2007/11,(xx=92,93,...) started in 1992, following personal contacts and scientific collaboration among several universities in Germany, The Netherlands, UK, France, Italy, Czech Republic and Austria to primarily provide exchange for PhD and diploma students.

The program consists of 3 different parts:

Students' Exchange Up to two students of each university may spend up to four months per academic year at any participating university. Accommodation will be provided by the "International Relations Office" of the host university.
Students should in any case specify the research interests or teaching courses beforehand. Contact person: Florian Pezzei. A complete list of the all the exchange programs and partners can be found at the Ausseninstitut.

Teachers' Exchange Teachers may spend one week per academic year at a partner university. The teachers give a lecture and present their individual research areas. Furthermore, hosts will arrange individual meetings with students to establish a basis for mutual exchange.
Expenses for accomodation will be covered by the EU budget (up to 400 EURO per week). The travel expenses will be paid additionally.

Intensive Programs are organized in the form of a workshop. Each partner sends a teacher and four or more students who participate in various courses and social events. The Intensive Program 2001 will be organized in Pavia form May 7th-18th. In 2000, this workshop took place at Lyon. You might want to have a look at Intensive Program 2000, or at the experiences made earlier at the Intensive Program 1999 which took place at the Vienna University of Technology.
